How it started.
I started Stedman Computer Solutions Inc. in 2004, straight out of college. I had sent out hundreds of resumes and heard back from none of them. None of the big computer companies ever called back. Looking back, that worked out. What I did have was years of building computers for friends and family.
My first try at a business, with my best friend and his dad, didn’t last. It did leave me with a few clients who paid me to fix their computers, and that was enough to keep going. Then a neighbor who owned a local business took a chance on me and asked me to manage the network there. I still do, more than twenty years later.
The work has grown into managed IT for small and mid-sized offices: networks, security, Microsoft 365, backup and phones. The idea hasn’t changed. The person who answers your call is the person who designed and documented your systems, and most new clients still find us by word of mouth.
